How Motorkinet collects, uses and protects the information you share with the desk.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. What we collect

When you email the desk, subscribe to the dispatch or send a message through the contact form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address and anything in your message. We also collect basic technical information such as browser type, approximate region and pages visited, using privacy-friendly analytics that do not build advertising profiles.

2. How we use it

We use your information to reply to messages, send the newsletter you asked for, correct errors in published features, and understand which articles readers find useful. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

3. Legal basis

  • Consent — for newsletter subscriptions and optional analytics cookies.
  • Legitimate interest — to answer correspondence and keep the journal accurate.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain records for tax or regulatory reasons.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the journal: email delivery, cloud hosting and analytics. Each provider is bound by a data-processing agreement and may use your data only to deliver that service.

5. Retention

Reader correspondence is kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in every email. Analytics data is retained in aggregate and never tied to a named individual.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

This site uses essential storage only by default. If we introduce analytics or embedded media that set additional cookies, we will ask for consent first and update this page before doing so.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with reputable providers. Access to reader correspondence is limited to the editorial team. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the obligation seriously.

9. Children

The journal is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially, we will note the date at the top of the page. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
